S/S of Hypernatremia:
The signs
and symptoms that may indicate hypernatremia are you may be thirsty, elevated temperature,
dry mouth and/or sticky mucous membranes, and edema. In a severe case of
hypernatremia a person may have hallucinations, coma, irritability, become lethargic,
and possibly seizures.
S/S of Hyponatremia:
The signs and symptoms that indicate a person is suffering
from hyponatremia are anorexia,
nausea, vomiting, weakness, lethargic, confusion, muscle cramps/twitching,
muscle weakness, headache, and seizures.
Also athletes like marathoners, triathletes, and competitive bikers put them selves at risk for hyponatremia because that drink to much water. This is called hyper hydration and can flush out all the bodies needed sodium.
